Recommended Wheel Installation Instructions

Your new Serpent Autosport wheels will allow your brake caliper and rotor to be viewed through the wheel. So now is the best time to clean all areas inside the wheel well.

Step 1: Spray a degreasing cleaner all around the wheel wells and  scrub with a plastic bristle brush. Then rinse and repeat as needed.

Step 2: Use a wire brush to remove any crude from the brake caliper or hub mounting surface, inspect the threads on the studs, clean or repair as necessary .

Step 3: Mask off brake caliper and rotor repaint wheel well and suspension parts as needed.

Step 4: Mask off rotor and paint brake caliper with hi temp paint color of your choice.

Step 5: Apply a coat of car wax to the inside of the wheel. This will help repel brake dust and protect the surface of your new wheel. Once you are satisfied with your sparkling wheel well area you are ready to mount your new wheels.

WHEEL MOUNTING & FASTENING PROCEDURES

Step 1: Place wheel on studs and flush against the hub. Using the supplied lug nuts, thread them onto the studs by hand until the wheel is snug (do not use impact wrench).

Step 2: Use a high quality, calibrated ratcheting torque wrench. Set the wrench to 25lbs. On 4-bolt hubs rotate one fastener to the 12-o'clock position. Torque it to 25lbs. Then go to the fastener at the 6-o'clock position and torque to 25lbs. Next tighten the 9-o'clock fastener and then the 3-o'clock fastener.

Step 3: Repeat this procedure with the torque wrench set to 50lbs.

Step 4: Set the torque wrench to 75lbs. and repeat the sequence. Do not lower any of the  weight of the car onto the wheels until they are completely torqued. This technique applies an incremental clamping load to the bolt circle, in order to avoid rotor or wheel warp age.

Step 5: Re-torque the fasteners after the first 75 miles.
